Pentecostal Miracle Deliverance Incorporated By-Laws:

ARTICLE XVI - MARRIAGE

Section I
Though we hold marriage as a being a sacred institution, we do not recommend any particular marriage ceremony to be used by the clergy of this organization, only that the marriage be performed in accordance with the law of the land. We do forbid any clergyman of this organization to perform a marriage when he or she is in knowledge of a truth that would void the marriage whether it be spiritual or legal.

SUB-ARTICLE I - STATEMENT OF FAITH AND PRACTICE

Introduction This is a policy statement on the beliefs of PENTECOSTAL MIRACLE DELIVERANCE, INCORPORATED, regarding religious beliefs concerning marriage and human sexuality and our policies based upon the necessary application of our faith to life and practice.

Section A: STATEMENT OF FAITH - General

I. Marriage – We believe that marriage has been instituted and ordained by God, and that marriage is defined as the exclusive covenantal union of one man and one woman in which such union is a lifetime commitment. We accept the Bible as the inspired Word of God and as the ultimate authority in matters of faith, doctrine and Christian living. More specifically, this organization believes in the sanctity of the marital union as described in Scripture:

A. God created the first marriage as a sacred covenant relationship between one man and one woman for the purposes of procreation, companionship, and dominion over creation, in keeping with the covenant relationship God himself established with his own creation (Genesis 2:15-24; Romans 1:16-32); and

II. Human Sexuality- We believe that legitimate sexual relations are exercised solely within marriage. Hence, sexual activities outside of marriage, including but not limited to, adultery, premarital sex, homosexuality, and pedophilia, are inconsistent with the teachings of the Bible and the church. Further, transgender behavior and the creation and/or distribution and/or viewing of pornography are incompatible with the biblical witness.

III. Family- We believe that the roles of husbands, wives, fathers, mothers, and children are clearly stated in the Scriptures, including the principles of discipline, instruction, and correction. When found to conflict with laws and/or social norms, we shall follow the biblical principles.

IV. Use of Facilities/Equipment- As a result of these above described religious beliefs and our belief in the need for a practice of fidelity to these beliefs, it is our policy that the facilities of this church may not be used for any ceremony that in any way approves of, solemnizes, supports or allows a same-sex union.

V. Pastors- It is also the policy of this organization that no pastor or member of the church staff shall officiate at any ceremony designed to solemnize, promote, create, or approve of such a union. Nor may any member of the church enter into such a union without being subject to church discipline.

VI. Alcohol Prohibited- Absolutely no alcohol or mind altering substances are allowed on the Church property.
